Club Meetings

  • When – Monday Evenings from 6:00-8:00pm

If you’re interested, joining our club is free!

Just be sure to fill out an application before coming to your first meeting.

After filling out an application, we ask that you please RSVP before coming to a meeting.

Please RSVP by 3:00pm on Monday, the day of the meeting.

By RSVPing, it allows us to find you a match with someone of similar ability.

Lessons

Lesson Details

We offer 3 sessions of lessons per year that mimic the calendar of the school year. Each session is 8 weeks long. Here’s the general timeline:

  • Fall Session – Starts the Monday after Labor Day and ends in the beginning of November.
  • Spring Session – Starts the 2nd Monday after New Years Day and ends mid March.
  • Summer Session – Starts the 2nd Monday of June and ends the last Monday of July.

We offer 2 different levels of lessons during these sessions. Here are the basic details:

  • 6:15pm Lesson – Beginner lessons geared towards kids ages 4-8 years old. We teach how the pieces moving following a fun and engaging program called Story Time Chess. Click or tap below for more details.
  • 6:45pm Lesson – Returner lessons geared towards kids that know the basics of how to play chess and are looking to learn more. These classes feel more like chess lectures where students are asked questions about chess puzzles to teach new concepts about the game. We also wanted to inform our members about an incredible free resource that can be used to learn even more about chess at your own pace. It’s called Lichess.org. Click or tap below for more information about how to use it.

Matches

The most common reason people come to our meetings is to play chess!

If time permits, please play a full match with your opponent.

A match consists of 2 games where each player gets a chance to play with white and black.
